#336 - 6” x 6” - Oil - I painted this scene from a photo taken a few years ago during a day visit to Montpellier. I zoomed in and cropped this small composition from within the larger photo. I loved the light created by the ‘contre jour’ aspect. The aim was to keep the painting impressionistic and ephemeral.

This is marvelous, Helen!! To me it's reminiscent of Kim English's work in the mastery of light in a scene as you have used here. It is masterful and extraordinary what you have done! Love this!!
