LET'S TANGO

#87
So Tangerine Tango is THE colour for 2012. I don't know if
painting this colour made me feel uncomfortably hot or it was
the 35c ( 95f ) outside...... erhhh maybe both :-D

APRES NOEL

This present is still waiting to be opened. The recipient will
arrive soon........... meanwhile I made good use of it
just sitting there like a still life, demanding to be painted.  ;-)

SUNNYSIDE

#79
This half open sunflower will look so different tomorrow
morning, but on this canvas, it will always stay this way. That's
what I love about painting........trying to capture a moment in
time forever.
Oh dear, that all sounds so deep! Maybe there should be violins
playing in the background while you read it. ;-) .... I'll just go
and organise it.

FLINDERS STREET STATION

#71
I love this station in Melbourne. It's actually the first time I have
painted it. I wanted to try and paint an impression of the station
and not go into all of it's details.............. Trying to keep to the
'Less is More' rule certainly was a challenge ! :-o

GEM PIER, WILLIAMSTOWN

As soon as the sun shines I head off for Williamstown. I'm lucky
because it's only 13 kilometres ( 8 miles ) from where I live.
Love it !

APPLES 'N HEARTS

SOLD

#65
I suppose this is a rather strange mixture of still life subjects.
The thing is, I have wanted to paint 'playing cards' for a while.
I added the apples simply because I wanted to use just red, white
and greys.

APPLE ROYALE

#63
This was an interesting subject.  I must say I did actually enjoy
painting the blue cellophane/cello wrap, I think it makes the
apple look very important and precious.
I hope that doesn't sound too strange.....he he  ;-)

Halloweened !!!

#61
I have never celebrated Halloween here in Australia, but in the
last few years I have seen lots of people heading off to Halloween
parties dressed in amazing costumes. When I saw this picture in
the DPW challenge I couldn't resist painting their ' SPOOKY'
faces.

SOLO

#58
For me this was an exercise in using just the one colour...well
almost.
Years ago my teacher use to have his students paint from the cast
after each semester break. He said it was a great way to get back
into 'seeing' as an artist again.
